What is polyurethane foam?

JFoam™, like all other polyurethane foams, is driven by the reaction from two different molecule groups - an alcohol (an -OH group) and an isocyanate (an -N=C=O group).

By taking polyfunctional isocyanates and alcohols (polyols) and including additives such as surfactants, blowing agents, and catalysts the chemical properties of the polyurethane foam can be controlled and engineered to the desired specifications.

If the basic chemistry is the same, then why JFoam™?

There is a reason our products have been sought after by industry leaders in aerospace and other specialty markets for years; we understand that, in some applications, failure is simply not an option. Unlike consumer available products at a hardware store, our engineered specialty foams are designed to handle applications ranging from cryogenic insulation, to high strength composite cores. All JFoam™ products leave our facility with conformance to our extensive internal testing as well as our customers' specifications.
